Rosa studied under Charles Pyle and Robert Revels in the famous Barbara Bradley School of Illustration at the Academy of Art University, San Francisco. She first received international recognition for the award-nominated graphic novel ECHOES (2011), and went on to co-create the shared universe of THINK TANK (2012-2017) and THE TITHE (2015). Rosa served as Storyboard Artist for Wes Craven’s THE GIRL IN THE PHOTOGRAPHS (2015), a Toronto International Film Festival selection directed by Craven’s protege, Nick Simon. In 2019, the Pechanga Band of Luiseño Indians published SOLDIERS UNKNOWN, a collaboration between Rosa and Indigenous author Chag Lowry, approved by the Yurok Tribe and the World War I Centennial Commission. Rosa and Chag continue to collaborate, most recently on the short story FOLLOW THE WATER (2021). She and Top Cow, a division of Image Comics, will soon announce a new dark fantasy series, with an exciting rising star writer. In addition, Rosa is developing a new series of independent graphic novels and picture books exploring the intersection of mythology and archeology through a Queer lens.
